Markus Huemer’s work combines media art with themes and motives of traditional art history. Huemer’s main focus concerns the meanings of an image as well as its conceptual basis and varying conditions of construction. This media-centered perspective also characterizes Markus Huemer’s approach to painting, where he links perception with computer-generated imaging techniques. His artistic positions, described by Huemer as painterly Mannerism, always concern media and technology, without ever relinquishing poetic and aesthetic statements. Several new large-size paintings and interactive media installations are being produced for the Factory exhibition
