The first meeting of tranzit Vienna.The first event organized by tranzit Vienna will be a sort of »pilot« for further events this year, to which we will invite prominent guests to think with tranzit about today, to talk about concepts and ideas for the present.21 January 2005 19:00 - 23 January 2005 Guests of the frist tranzit Vienna meeting are beside Edit András, Boris Buden, Beral Madra, Iosif Király, Bojana Pejić and Anton Pelinka, from tranzit Bratislava: Boris Ondreička, from tranzit Budapest: Dóra Hegyi, tranzit Prague: Vit Havránek, from tranzit Vienna: Christine Böhler and Boris Marte, from the Galerie im Taxispalais Silvia Eiblmayr will take part. Organized is the event by Georg Schöllhammer and Maria Derntl (springerin).At the frist day at 7 p.m. on the program: A podium discussion with Edit András, Iosif Király, Beral Madra, Bojana Pejić, Anton Pelinka and Georg Schöllhammer. The guests will discuss following questions: How is this Balkan boom read locally, how does it present itself against the background of the current project of European unification and the discussions on Turkey as part of Europe, and what strategies – including artistic ones – can be developed through it or against it? Prominent artists and intellectuals from the Balkan region discuss these and other similar issues. After a short reception in the Galerie, organized by the Galerie itself, where the public from Innsbruck will have the opportunity to converse with our guests. Location:
