Roland Kollnitz

Roland Kollnitz's sculptural works are based on subtle interventions in existing spaces and architecture, consisting in the use of ordinary, everyday objects, whose form and materiality he brings into confrontation with the exhibition space. His at first random seeming sculptural-performative techniques are soon revealed to be a careful and humorous game playing with perception and the various moral ideals that are often implied in perception. These works do not represent anything permanent but rather intentionally convey a sense of improvisation, the temporary and short-lived. Roland Kollnitz will produce a work specifically for the entryway to the MUMOK.
