Days of Architecture 2008 – Vienna|Bratislava

The "Days of Austrian Architecture" open the doors to "Architecture from inside" for users and experts in Vienna and Bratislava.

As a part of the 4th "Days of Austrian Architecture" "Architecture from inside" opens the doors to architecture for users and experts in Vienna and Bratislava.
Free entry, first hand information from experts and users of modern architecture and guided tours to normaly publicly closed spaces – e.g. many private houses – mark the event.
The program offers a wide spectrum of buildngs from small houses to skyscrapers and from unfinished building sites to architectural jewels of the Art deco-Aera.
Following the guided tours the audience is invited to visit the architects workingspaces  and get in direct contact with the experts to see how ideas develop into plans and plans into buildings. Many of them invite the visitors of "architecture from inside" to join their "Open House Events" at the evening with special presentations of their work.
"Grätzelspaziergänge" ("area walks") will point out the historic and urban planning side of architecture, park- and spacedesign.
"Architecture from inside" is coordinated by the Austrian Society of Architecture in cooperation with the Slovakian Academy of Scienes - Architecture Department who ist responsible for the Bratislava-program. This year the slovakian Partners have chosen the topic "1918_1948_1968_2008 in Architecture" which links crucial years in Slovak history with the architecture of the time and looks at significant traces of the historical events in the mentioned years as well as at outstanding examples of nowadays architecture in Bratislava.
