International Small Scenes Theatre Festival

Every year, the International “Small Scenes” Festival presents selected shows from different European countries and thus provides an insight into the theatre scene across Central and Eastern Europe.

The festival combines first-class mainstream drama and open, experimental theatre, presentig shows of different authors, styles, and genres. All the shows are in a topical context: the psychology of small, closed and isolated worlds. The goal is not to show “closed culture systems” belonging to a “cultural otherness” but rather “mummified and autistic microcosms” in which the traumatic experiences of individuals make them detach from the masses. Thereby “global processes” can be recognised in a more suitable and lucid way.
